Results:

Hurling League

Shamrocks intermediate hurlers played their first competitive game of the year when they travelled to Ferrybank last Saturday for the first round of the intermediate hurling league. The pitch in Ferrybank was in good condition considering all the recent wet weather. Shamrocks had the aid of the breeze in the first half but trailed the home side 1-03 to 0-08 at half time. Shamrocks had plenty of possession and opportunities in the first half but hit a lot of wides. Ferrybank scored their only goal early in the second half and the signs looked ominous a few minutes later with Shamrocks trailing by 7 points and playing against the wind. However, the players dug deep and produced a great last 20 minutes to totally turn the game around. The final score was Shamrocks 3-10 to 1-12 Ferrybank. Team: Thomas Goulding, Tom Roche, Adam Crawford, Michael Lucey, Padraig Ahearne, Ivan O’Neill, Eoin Linehan, Liam Motherway, Billy Hynes, JP Lucey, Kelyvn Farrell, Shane Roche, Keegan Farrell, Joe Leahy and Kieran Crawford. Subs used Eoin Roche.
