Results

Junior C Hurling Championship round 1 Ballysaggart 2-17 to 0-07 Shamrocks. Our Junior C team started their championship with a defeat away to Ballysaggart. Ballysaggart took the lead from early on and never looked back. Shamrocks battled away as best as possible with the hosts leading at half-time by 1-07 to 0-03. Ballysaggart continued to dominate the possession and the scoreboard in the second half. The effort was good from the Shamrocks players, they just came up against a better and sharper team. Shamrocks team: Liam Murphy, Martin Delaney, Tomás O Neill, Thomas Baldwin, Mikey O’ Neill, Jason Aherne, Liam Dalton, Sean Murphy, Cathal Herlihy, Conor Goulding, Shane Harnedy, Eoin Roche, Alan Kelly, Thomas Goulding and Padraig Tobin. Subs used Seamus Tobin and James Walsh. Tim Lenihan. While the performance and defeat was disappointing it was great to have championship hurling again. Compliments to Ballysaggart on hosting the game and ensuring safety protocols were observed. There was a good crowd at the match and thanks to the Shamrocks supporters for coming out to support the team. Shamrocks must win their remaining 2 games in the group against Ardmore and Stradbally to have any hope of reaching the knock-out stages.
