Junior Hurling Championship
The first championship game for the club took place last Friday evening at JFK Park where our Junior hurlers took on Ardmore. Our lads had the better of the first half where we saw great defending and some well taken scores most notably from Chris Murphy and Kelvyn O’Farrell. Stephen Roche raised a green flag midway through the first half and we entered half time leading on a score of 1-6 to 0-5. Second half was more of the same with some valiant defending by both teams. Like all Ardmore teams, they kept fighting to the very end and the teams were level with less than 10 minutes to go. Ardmore managed to score 2 goals in the space of 3 minutes which swung the game in their favour heading into the closing minutes. However our lads didn’t throw in the towel and managed 1-2  in the last few minutes, the goal coming from Kelvyn. Unfortunately it wasn’t enough by the time Tommy O’Sullivvan blew the full time whistle. Full time score 2-12 to 2-10 Next up is Dungarvan away at 12pm this Sunday.
Team: Tom Goulding, Jason Ahearne, Brian Harnedy, Ciaran Hunt, Adam McSweeney, Ivan O’Neill, Eoin Roche(C), Ciaran Lenihan, Stephen Roche, Chris Murphy, Kelvyn O’Farrell, Cathal Hunt, Cathal Herlihy, Shane Harnedy, Keegan O’ Farrell, Tommy O’Donovan, Sean Murphy, Alan Kelly.

Micheal O’Muircheartaigh RIP
It was with great sadness among the GAA community and far beyond when we learned of the passing of the great Micheál O’Muircheartaigh last week. He was an iconic Gael that will be forever remembered for his amazing legacy to the GAA and Irish culture. In broadcasting, his encyclopaedic knowledge of sport and individual players combined with an unusual turn of phrase, quick one liners and the mix of Gaelige and English made his commentaries unique. Micheál brought everyone into his lair with words and passion and his name will endure through the generations. The Carrauntohil of Irish broadcasting. ‘The stopwatch has stopped’ but his legacy will last the test of time. Ar dheis Dé go raibh a anam.
