Premier Intermediate Hurling Championship
Our Intermediates got their championship up and running last Saturday evening in Fraher Field against Ballygunner. The first half was fought closely by both teams where both free takers were kept busy. Padraig Hynes being exceptional from placed balls. A Ballygunner goal midway through the first half gave them a slight cushion heading into half time where they led 1-10 to 0-9 but from overall play there was very little if anything between the two sides. Unfortunately for us, after the break was a different story where Ballygunner took control of the game. Two quickfire goals and a handful of points without reply was always going to make a comeback difficult. Never going to throw in the towel, a Shane Roche goal and points from Padraig and the impressive Chris Murphy when introduced helped our side of the scoreboard tick over. However Ballygunner being Ballygunner kept their impressive momentum up until the final whistle and ran out convincing winners. As is the nature of the club championship and the quick turnaround between matches, there is no time to lick our wounds and we face Dunhill in the next round in Kilrossanty on Saturday evening.
Please come along to support the team.

All Ireland Final
The club would like to commiserate with Seamus Harnedy on his side’s nail biting loss with Clare in the All Ireland Final. Seamus’s Dad Sean would have won county titles with the club in 1977,1982 and 1984 in both hurling and football. His cousins Brian and Shane are both long lasting players with our adult teams. Also to selector Brenan Coleman who trained our hurlers in recent years. From a Waterford perspective, seeing how we were narrowly beaten by the All Ireland champions in Ennis, and beat the other All Ireland Finalists in the Munster Championship, should give the new Waterford Management optimism as they head into the 2025 campaign

Save The Date
We will be having a Shamrocks GAA social on Saturday 9th of November in the Park Hotel Dungarvan to commemorate the 1984 and 1999 county winning teams. More details to follow in the coming weeks.
