Premier Intermediate Hurling Shamrocks 2-13 Dunhill 0-14
Our Premier Intermediate Hurlers retained their Premier Intermediate status for 2025 after defeating a dogged Dunhill side in Lemybrien last Saturday. A good start was needed, and we opened the game brilliantly and enjoyed a 1-07 to 0-01 lead midday way through the first half with Stephen Lucey scoring a well taken goal. Dunhill fought back bravely and clawed their way back into the game and narrowed the deficit at half time 1-07 to 0-5. This lead would have been narrower if it had not been for a fantastic save by John O’Donovan during the opening half. We started the second half like we did the first and extended our cushion to 2-10 to 0-06. Stephen coming up again with another important goal. Just like the first half, Dunhil refused to throw in the towel and came back again, narrowing the lead to 2 goals. Another crucial save by John kept  Dunhill at bay, and a sigh of relief was had when Eoin Morrissey blew his full time whistle where the game ended at 2-13 to 0-14. The Club would like to thank Martin Delaney and his management team for the work they have done during the year. Eventhough all results did not go our way this year, they certainly left no stone unturned to make sure the players were equipped for each game. To our supporters, a huge debt of gratitude to each and everyone who travelled to our games cheering our lads on even when results were not going our way. Finally to our players, A huge thanks for the commitment and dedication you have shown all year. It certainly isn’t easy to keep coming back week in week out after unfavourable results but you kept fighting until the bitter end in every single match which is highly admirable. Here’s to 2025!
