Results
Junior C Hurling Championship round 2 Ardmore 0-15 to 2-11 Shamrocks. Our Junior C team had a very good victory over Ardmore after a very tough battle in the Junior C hurling championship. Ardmore took an early lead and were 5 pts to 1 up after 10 or so minutes. It was 5pts to 2 at the 1st water break. Shamrocks played really really well after the first water break and the hosts leading by 2 pts at half-time. Padraig Tobin scored a goal in the first half for Shamrocks. It was nip and tuck for the first 15 minutes of the second half and Shamrocks still found themselves down by 2 pts at the 2nd water break. Shamrocks dug deep in the last 15 minutes and the hard work and persistence paid off. Bernie Kelleher flicked the ball to the net from a Chris Murphy free with about 5 minutes to go. Shamrocks held out at the end for a deserved 2 pt victory. The effort was very good from the Shamrocks players and they now face Stradbally in the final group game next Sunday. Shamrocks team: Sean O ‘Neill, Martin Delaney (capt), Thomas Baldwin, Seanie Murphy, Mikey O’ Neill, Jason Aherne, Liam Dalton, Chris Murphy, Eoin Roche, Kelvyn Farrell, , Shane Harnedy, Alan Kelly, Conor Goulding, Bernie Kelleher and Padraig Tobin. Subs used Cathal Herlihy for Conor Gouling. Seamus Tobin and Tim Lenihan.
